The St. Petersburg Times has published more incrimating emails between Bob Richburg and Ray Sansom. Both Mr. Richburg, former president of Northwest Florida State College, and Rep. Sansom, former Florida House Speaker, are under indictment for perjury and official misconduct in connection with a plot to build an airplane hangar. In the latest emails published by the Times, Mr. Richburg writes to Mr. Sansom: "Jay [Odom] is positive and motivated. He and I both agree that you are the kingpin in this whole operation and that the three of us need to meet to work the plan."
A few things I wanted to highlight today: The Buzz: "Attorney General Holly Benson?" The St. Petersburg Times political blog The Buzz reports that Republican strategist Sally Bradshaw is floating Pensacolian Holly Benson's name as a possible Republican candidate for Attorney General in 2010. Councilman Hall made some newsworthy comments at yesterday's meeting of the PEDC. News Journal reporter Jamie Page quoted Hall as saying during the meeting that he had "unwittingly broken the Sunshine law."

Links to the full agendas are included at the bottom of the page. Note: This meeting will take place on Monday, July 6. The meeting begins at 9:00 AM in the Hagler/Mason Conference Room, second floor, City Hall. The Finance Committee, the Economic and Community Development Committee, and the Community Redevelopment Agency will not meet.
Out of the Pensacola City Council's "goal setting session" today came seven goals, or "strategy statements." Without further ado: 1. Maintain a fiscally sound and sustainable city government that earns the trust and respect of the citizens. 2. Provide proficient public safety services in terms of police, fire, disaster preparedness, and storm water management through collaboration among agencies, utilization of technology, and proven innovations. 3. Prepare a responsible annexation plan...
